By using the Autonomous Learner Model (ALM) students are encouraged to bring their favorite content into ELP and develop projects they truly have a passion for. In many instances, this is a bit of a trial and error for 7th and 8th graders. As students grow and learn they realize often what they thought they were interested in, or had a passion for, changes as they do. With the ALModel their time in ELP allows them this freedom to EXPLORE, LEARN and have FUN in a non-threatening environment.
On February 4th the IH 8th grade ELP students had the opportunity to listen (and ask questions) to two former IH and current Valley students about ELP and the Honors program at the high school level.
