About Senorita Gray
Hola todos!
I am so excited to start the 2013-2014 school year! I am new this year and am very much looking forward to meeting you all. This year should be filled with lots of fun and full of activity. But first, I thought I would tell you a little bit about myself.
I grew up in Ankeny, Iowa and graduated from Ankeny High School in 2004. I then went on to the University of Northern Iowa where I double majored in Spanish Education and Elementary Education. While in college I lived in Oviedo, Spain for 6 months. It was an amazing experience! I graduated from UNI in May of 2009 and started my first teaching job in Grundy Center, Iowa.
At Grundy Center High School, I taught Spanish to 8th - 12th graders, levels Exploratory - 4. During the summer I worked at the YMCA teaching Spanish and running the Iron Kids Summer Camp. After 4 years of teaching at Grundy Center, I decided I would like to move closer to my family and a place where I could collaborate with other Spanish teachers. I began looking for a new teaching position in May of 2013 and was granted the opportunity to teach in West Des Moines Community Schools, which of course, I took.
I look forward to working with everyone here: students, teachers, administration, community members, and many more. If you ever have questions for me, please feel free to contact me any way that is listed on my "Contact Me" page.
Can't wait to meet you all soon, it's going to be a great year!
